Nashville, TN - Music
icon Loretta Lynn reunited with Oscar-winner Sissy Spacek at
a sold-out concert in Sissy's hometown of Charlottesville,
VA on Saturday, July 30. Twenty-five years ago Sissy
traveled the road with Loretta before the making of COAL
MINER'S DAUGHTER, a role for which she won an Academy Award
for her portrayal of Loretta in the autobiographical
American film classic.
Following a heartfelt introduction by Sissy, nearly 4000
fans were treated to an intimate evening of banter and
reminiscing with Sissy joining Loretta on-stage for the
second half of the concert. In addition to performing many
selections from her stable of country hits, Loretta swapped
lines with her beloved friend on songs Sissy performed in
COAL MINER'S DAUGHTER.
Sissy is an advisory board member of the non-profit local
community theater organization, Live Arts, which invited
Loretta to Charlottesville to perform for the grand opening
of the new Charlottesville Pavilion. Loretta continues on
tour through December with 25 concerts scheduled throughout
the Northeast, Mid-west and Southeast. For more information,
