A LEGACY OF COUNTRY
Loretta Lynn plays the Orpheum Theatre on
Friday, singing chart-topping hits from four decades.

Loretta
Lynn sings about the toils and triumphs of American women.
With such classic hits as "Coal Miner's Daughter" and "Blue
Kentucky Girl," she chronicles both the hoot-and-holler
happiness and hushed-up humiliations of living day to day.
Lynn will sing at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Orpheum Theatre,
First and Broadway.
She was a 25-year-old housewife when she cut her first
single. In the 46 years since, she's had hit after hit, from
better-watch-yourself warnings ("Don't Come Home A-Drinkin'
(With Lovin' on Your Mind") to a series of cheating-heart
duets with Conway Twitty. Her legacy includes 52 top 10
hits.
Lynn's recent album "Van Lear Rose" reinforced her
reputation as queen of the honky-tonk -- and as an artist of
emotional honesty and unflinching independence.
Tickets to Lynn's concert are $30 to $75. For more
