In her splendid, sparkling dress, Loretta Lynn looked like royalty as she shuffled through a media room Monday night at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel.
Lynn was among a diverse group of Nashville music-makers who gathered at the hotel for a gala dinner and ceremony.

LORETTA, A TRUE AMERICAN IDOL
No panel of judges is needed to confirm the fact that Loretta Lynn is indeed an American idol. She will be featured on this week's "Country Music Across America," March 22, 9:00
PM ET on GAC.
Host Storme Warren visited with Loretta at her Dude Ranch museum to talk about her still thriving career. "I'm shocked," she said as she looked around. "It's like looking at someone else's life...then I wonder how all my clothes got in here."

LORETTA LYNN RECEIVED BERKLEE HONORARY
DOCTORATE
Loretta Lynn, the Coal Miner's Daughter, one of country
music's greatest vocalists and songwriters, was
presented with an Honorary Doctorate of Music from Boston's Berklee College of Music, on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry.
Berklee President Roger H. Brown made the presentation
during Miss Lynn's performance on "Grand Ole Opry Live" Saturday, March 17.

LORETTA LYNN PUTS LIFE IN SONGS
Loretta Lynn, appearing on ABC's "This Week" yesterday, talked about tackling serious women's issues in her songs. Loretta, who will receive an honorary Ph.D. this week from the Berklee College of Music, said all her songs have been written straight from the heart.

LORETTA ON ANCHORED IN LOVE

produced an album in honor of his mother, June Carter Cash,
featuring performances by Elvis Costello, Loretta Lynn,
Sheryl Crow, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Brad Paisley
and Emmylou Harris.
Both are titled Anchored in Love and will be released in
June. |

A LEGACY OF COUNTRY
Loretta Lynn sings about the toils and triumphs of American
women. With such classic hits as "Coal Miner's Daughter" and
"Blue Kentucky Girl," she chronicles both the
hoot-and-holler happiness and hushed-up humiliations of
living day to day. Lynn will sing at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the
Orpheum Theatre, First and Broadway.

Loretta recently donated autographed stage shoes and an autographed photo.
All proceeds from this auction will benefit Kobe Crouch. Kobe
was born having only developed half of his heart. He is
currently on the list to receive a heart transplant.
Proceeds from this auction will benefit Kobe and his family
by helping to pay for medical and other costs associated
